About
I'm Adrián Bono, a journalist and editor. I was born in Mallorca, I live in Madrid, and for more than fifteen years I have covered politics, disinformation and new ways of telling the news.
I'm the founder of The Bubble, an English-language online outlet that explains Spanish politics, pop culture and society through three weekly newsletters, explainers, videos and a podcast. Our audience is the international community looking to understand Spain.
Before returning to Spain in 2020, I worked as a journalist in Latin America and the United States, where I launched and ran two digital publications, The Bubble and The Essential. I worked on the international desk at Infobae and as deputy editor of the Buenos Aires Herald. I have also contributed to publications such as The Guardian, Telemundo and Monocle, and my opinion pieces have been published by NPR, Al Jazeera and the BBC.
As a consultant, I have worked with European and US institutions and non-governmental organisations on projects against disinformation and for media literacy.
I am also a visiting lecturer at CEU Fernando III University, where I teach Social Media in a Globalised World on the master's in International Relations and Diplomacy. In my classes I explore how the media and social networks shape public opinion and international politics.
In my personal newsletter I write in Spanish and English about politics, disinformation and pop culture.
